Powering Belize’s Digital Future

A Partnership-Driven Program to Upskill Belizeans for Global BPO/GDS Success

The Belize GDS/BPO Upskilling Program is a transformative initiative to bridge the skills gap in Belize’s fast-growing Business Process Outsourcing and Global Digital Services sector. Launched with a $150,000 investment from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), this program aligns with the Belize Education Sector Plan 2021-2025, addressing critical challenges: outdated IT curricula, limited training access, and misaligned high school education with employer needs.

Through extensive consultations with MoECST, BELTRAIDE, BPO employers, students, and teachers, we identified key skill gaps—85% of employers report graduates lack modern IT skills like Python, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. Our mission is to upskill 500+ Belizeans by 2026, equipping them for high-value roles in data analytics, CRM management, and technical support.

Our Approach:

  • Comprehensive Needs Assessment: Data-driven insights from stakeholders ensure relevant training.
  • Tailored E-Learning: Courses in cybersecurity, data analytics, CRM, cloud, and AI, accessible via our portal.
  • Industry Partnerships: Collaboration with BELTRAIDE and BPO firms ensures job-ready skills.
  • Scalable Impact: Pilot training in 2026, with plans for regional expansion via CXC alignment.

Meet Our Consortium:
